How to remove Astrum.exe virus from your Computer

Method 1:



What is Astrum.exe?

Astrum Antivirus Pro is a rogue anti-spyware application and a clone of VirusTrigger and Antivirus Trigger. Astrum Antivirus Pro is often downloaded and installed by a Trojan or through browser security holes. Astrum Antivirus Pro may generate large numbers of popup adverts. Astrum Antivirus Pro will also display notifications of imaginary security risks in its attempts to get the user to purchase the full version. Astrum Antivirus Pro may run a fake system scanner and then display fake system scan results stating that your system is flooded with spyware. Astrum Antivirus Pro program may be difficult to remove manually, and will continue to try to recreate itself.

Symptoms:

* Slow computer performance: It just takes one parasite like Astrum Antivirus Pro 3.6 to slow your computer dramatically. If your PC takes longer than usual to reboot, or if your Internet connection is unusually slow, you may be infected with Astrum Antivirus Pro 3.6.

* New desktop shortcuts or switched homepage: Badware like Astrum Antivirus Pro 3.6 may change your Internet settings to redirect your homepage to another site. Badware can even add desktop shortcuts to your PC.

Step 1: Stop these Astrum Antivirus Pro processes:

Remove Astrum.exe virus from computer.

1. Press "Alt+Ctrl+Delete."

2. Click on "Task Manager".
You can also launch the Task Manager instantly if you press Ctrl + Shift + ESC simultaneously. This is much easier than accessing it from Ctrl + Alt + Delete or the taskbar.
It works for both Windows XP or Windows Vista. .

3. Select the process that you want to stop, then click on "End Task".

Now search these Process and Remove it.

Step 2: Remove these Astrum Antivirus Pro Registry Entries:


Step 1. Go to Start.

Step 2. Click Run.

Step 3. Type "regedit" and click on OK.

Step 4. Now it opens the Registry Editor

Step 5. In order to modify the registry key, you need to find the exact registry key you want to edit. In case you know what exact subkey you are looking for, you can easily navigate through the subkey.

Or,

you can press Ctrl + F (or go to Edit -> Find) to locate the subkey that contains the value you want to edit.

Step 3: Remove these Astrum Antivirus Pro files:

Method 2:



Step 1: How to delete Astrum Antivirus Pro 3.6 files in Windows XP and Vista:

Astrum.exe removal

1. Click your Windows Start menu, and then click "Search."

2. A speech bubble will pop up asking you, "What do you want to search for?" Click "All files and folders."

3. Type a Astrum Antivirus Pro 3.6 file in the search box, and select "Local Hard Drives."

4. Click "Search." Once the file is found, delete it.


Step 2: How to stop Astrum Antivirus Pro 3.6 processes:

1. Click the Start menu, select Run.

2. Type taskmgr.exe into the the Run command box, and click "OK." You can also launch the Task Manager by pressing keys CTRL + Shift + ESC.

3. Click Processes tab, and find Astrum Antivirus Pro 3.6 processes.

4. Once you've found the Astrum Antivirus Pro 3.6 processes, right-click them and select "End Process" to kill Astrum Antivirus Pro 3.6.

Step 3: How to remove Astrum Antivirus Pro 3.6 registry keys:


1. Select your Windows menu "Start," and click "Run." An "Open" field will appear.
Type "regedit" and click "OK" to open up your Registry Editor.

2. Registry Editor will open as a window with two panes.
The left side Registry Editor's window lets you select various registry keys, and the right side displays the registry values of the registry key you select.

3. To find a registry key, such as any Astrum Antivirus Pro 3.6 registry keys, select "Edit," then select "Find," and in the search bar type any of Astrum Antivirus Pro 3.6's registry keys.

4. As soon as Astrum Antivirus Pro 3.6 registry key appears, you can delete the Astrum Antivirus Pro 3.6 registry key by right-clicking it and selecting "Modify," then clicking "Delete."





Step 4: How to delete Astrum Antivirus Pro 3.6 DLL files:


1. First locate Astrum Antivirus Pro 3.6 DLL files you want to delete. Open your Windows Start menu, then click "Run." Type "cmd" in Run, and click "OK."

2. To change your current directory, type "cd" in the command box, press your "Space" key, and enter the full directory where the Astrum Antivirus Pro 3.6 DLL file is located.
If you're not sure if the Astrum Antivirus Pro 3.6 DLL file is located in a particular directory, enter "dir" in the command box to display a directory's contents.
To go one directory back, enter "cd .." in the command box and press "Enter."

3. When you've located the Astrum Antivirus Pro 3.6 DLL file you want to remove, type "regsvr32 /u SampleDLLName.dll" (e.g., "regsvr32 /u jl27script.dll") and press your "Enter" key.

That's it. If you want to restore any Astrum Antivirus Pro 3.6 DLL file you removed, type "regsvr32 DLLJustDeleted.dll" (e.g., "regsvr32 jl27script.dll") into your command box, and press your "Enter" key.




Step 5: If Astrum Antivirus Pro 3.6 change your homepagethen do the following.


1. Click Windows Start menu > Control Panel > Internet Options.

2. Under Home Page, select the General > Use Default.

3. Type in the URL you want as your home page (e.g., "http://www.homepage.com").

4. Select Apply > OK.

5. You'll want to open a fresh web page and make sure that your new default home page pops up.



Method 3:



Step 1: Use Windows File Search Tool to Find Astrum.exe Path:

How to Delete Astrum.exe virus.

# Go to Start > Search > All Files or Folders.

# In the "All or part of the the file name" section, type in "Astrum.exe" file name(s).

# To get better results, select "Look in: Local Hard Drives" or "Look in: My Computer" and then click "Search" button.

# When Windows finishes your search, hover over the "In Folder" of "Astrum.exe", highlight the file and copy/paste the path into the address bar. Save the file's path on your clipboard because you'll need the file path to delete Astrum.exe in the following manual removal steps.

Step 2: Use Windows Task Manager to Remove Astrum.exe Processes:

# To open the Windows Task Manager, use the combination of CTRL+ALT+DEL or CTRL+SHIFT+ESC.

# Click on the "Image Name" button to search for "Astrum.exe" process by name.

# Select the "Astrum.exe" process and click on the "End Process" button to kill it.


Step 3: Detect and Delete Other Astrum.exe Files:


# To open the Windows Command Prompt, go to Start > Run > cmd and then press the "OK" button.

# Type in "dir /A name_of_the_folder" (for example, C:\Spyware-folder), which will display the folder's content even the hidden files.

# To change directory, type in "cd name_of_the_folder".

# Once you have the file you're looking for type in del "name_of_the_file".

# To delete a file in folder, type in "del name_of_the_file".

# To delete the entire folder, type in "rmdir /S name_of_the_folder".

# Select the "Astrum.exe" process and click on the "End Process" button to kill it.
